Lions Left Tackle To Miss Week 1 With Finger Injury, Surgery Likely

Taylor Decker, the Lions left tackle, has a finger injury and is likely to need surgery. The head coach has already indicated he's likely to miss this Sunday which means collegiate left tackle Penei Sewell (7th overall pick) will be flipped back from a right tackle. He apparently hurt the finger in practice in pass protection. Often linemen can play with a club or a cast, but given the surgery and situation, it seems like it'll be a week or two before Decker can return to play. We do not expect an injury reserve stint for him, but it does seem like he's missing Week 1.
