Justin Jackson - RB
Jackson had a season-long struggle with muscle injuries in 2019. The Chargers running back missed eight games with a calf injury and was limited with a hamstring issue late in the season. Hopefully the Northwestern product had an evaluation this offseason and has a preventative program for muscle injuries this year especially given the risk of acclimation to soft tissue injuries with the lack of an offseason program.
With Melvin Gordon now in Denver, Jackson will be counted on to support Austin Ekeler. In seven games of limited action, he still managed to rush for 200 yards on 6.9 yards per carry.
Mike Williams - WR
The Chargers wideout hurt his shoulder in practice and his head coach Anthony Lynn said he will be out for a while. Lynn made no guarantees about the regular season. This situation needs to be followed however with good care we still maintain there is a chance he could be ready Week 1, and sources are saying it could be two to four weeks before he’s back in action. The most likely injury is an AC joint sprain or separated shoulder, and we do not see this becoming an injured reserve or designated to return situation. He’s coming off of his first 1000-yard season, and we’ve seen what he can do in the red zone in 2018, where he managed 10 touchdowns on the season.
Hunter Henry - TE
Hunter Henry made a nice return from a 2018 offseason ACL surgery only to suffer a tibial plateau fracture right off the bat in 2019. He showed toughness finishing the game but eventually wound up missing significant time. Henry missed four games total, and still had 55 catches for 652 yards and five touchdowns. His ceiling is as high as any tight end in the league but was franchise tagged this offseason. Henry hopes to be healthy enough to earn a new long-term deal and despite the previous injuries, there is no reason Henry can't have a highly productive year in 2020.
