The Warriors - SIC Health Score 83.9 have lost 5 in a row and are 2-9 since Feb. 9, dropping them to 43-22 and No. 3 in the West, and will face the Clippers in San Francisco Tuesday night off of a much-needed long rest for a majority of their starting unit.
Starters Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Gary Payton II did not travel to Denver on Monday, while Otto Porter Jr. was a late scratch with a general illness (Thompson missed 2 games last week with his own illness).
The only rotation players to play in the 131-124 loss to the Denver Nuggets were Kevon Looney, Jordan Poole, Damion Lee, and the rookies Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.
Payton II and Porter Jr. are both uncertain to be available Tuesday.
Payton II missed the last 2 games with left knee soreness after taking a hit to the knee against Dallas on March 3, although an MRI came back clean. Payton II is considered day-to-day any could miss tonight's matchup.
Curry has been more efficient in his career with extra rest, posting 25.4 points and 6.4 assists on 63.6% true shooting and a plus-11 net rating in 120 games with 2 days rest.
Despite the extended slump, Golden State has the 2nd-best home record at 26-7, and the 4th-worst home mark in over/under (set at 222.5 on FanDuel) at 14-19.
The Clippers - SIC Health Score 80.3, who sit at 34-32, were ransacked by the Knicks on Sunday night losing 116-93 with only 3 players playing over 25 minutes.
In addition to Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Norman Powell, veteran swingman Robert Covington will miss the contest due to personal reasons.
Los Angeles had won 5 in a row and 7 of 8 before the late-night home loss, a streak that included a 119-104 win over the Warriors on Feb. 14 that saw all 5 starters score in double-digits and 4 starters post 7-or-more rebounds.
Expect Amir Coffey and Isaiah Hartenstein, among others, to see a bump in minutes without Covington against the dangerous Warriors' offense.
Potential Plays:
Stephen Curry O24.5 Points - Curry averages above this number in games after 2 days rest, expect the showman to have a day against a Clippers team lacking in healthy guards
O222.5 Total Points - The Clippers have managed to play well without their stars and can score points, expect a better effort than the one they gave against the Knicks, Warriors will have no trouble scoring after resting their key players on Monday
