Luka Doncic Finishes Game Vs. Suns Despite Right Ankle Sprain

Mavericks star Luka Doncic suffered a right ankle injury in the first half of Wednesday’s game against the Suns, but returned in the second half and finished with a near triple-double.
By video, Doncic suffered a mild right lateral inversion ankle sprain when he stepped on Kevin Durant’s foot in the closing minutes of the 1st half.
He was able to return for the second half because of the numerous sprains he has suffered on that ankle in the past.
Doncic scored 10 points in the second half after racking up 24 points, 5 assists and 4 made 3s in the first half.
He did not make a 3 in the second half and will likely struggle to be accurate from distance next game after this recent reaggravation. He finished the game shooting 45.8% from the field and 36.4% from 3 against the Suns with 34 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Doncic is shooting 48.2% from the field and 37.3% from 3 this season.
The Mavs (24-20) take on the Hawks in Atlanta on Friday.
