Luke Musgrave Placed on IR With Abdominal Injury

Update: As expected, Musgrave was placed on IR and will miss the next 4 games, including Thanksgiving.

Green Bay Packers rookie Luke Musgrave ended up in the hospital with an abdominal injury despite finishing Sunday’s game against the Chargers.

By video, Musgrave likely suffered a liver laceration when he fell on the football while making a catch with 9 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

His hospital trip was for monitoring, not a procedure, according to the Pro Football Docs. Head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Musgrave has a “significant” abdominal injury but clarified it did not involve the appendix.

With the liver laceration, he’s likely to miss multiple weeks and could be placed on IR. The earliest he could be back is likely Dec. 17 against the Buccaneers.

He finished with 4 catches for 28 yards on 6 targets in the game and has 33 catches for 341 yards and a touchdown in 10 games.

Tucker Kraft may get more opportunity with Musgrave out.
