Malik Monk to Miss Significant Time With Right Knee Injury

Malik Monk - SIC score 17

Suffered sprained MCL in right knee during collision with Luka Doncic in March 29 game - will miss at least four weeks, likely knocking him out for the playoffs unless the Kings can make a deep run.

The Kings lost perimeter scoring threat Kevin Huerter to a dislocated shoulder in mid-March and now will be without Monk for the foreseeable future.

Monk has been the most productive player off the bench this season, averaging 15.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 26 mins per game across 72 games.

He shot 44.3% from the field and 35% from 3-point range during the season.

As of Sunday morning, the Kings sit in 8th place – a half-game behind the Suns and 1.5 games ahead of the Lakers.

Monk, 25, is an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
