The New York Guardians quarterback was injured in the middle of the first quarter of the last Guardians game. He missed one series and returned late in the first quarter but finished out the first half before leaving the game. He had a lackluster performance when he returned to field after one drive. Now he is not practicing with an injury to the thorax. By video, in real time when he was sacked he fell on the ball and had an anterior chest injury for which we thought it would be possible to play through. Indeed McGloin came back for a short time but now seems to be more sore days after the game. Thorax is another word for chest area with this likely being either an anterior rib cartilage or sternal injury with soreness. Surgery is not likely but his return to play depends on how he feels and whether he can rotate his trunk to appropriately throw with velocity and accuracy. It is still early in the week but I think it is unlikely that McGloin will be the starter this week due to the injury, the lack of practice time and the stagnant Guardians offense under his direction. McGloin has been officially ruled out.
