The Falcons head coach confirmed a right ankle injury but they have yet to confirm or deny that it is a high ankle sprain as we reported yesterday. By video, it is a clear right high ankle sprain when Aaron Donald tackled Ryan and rolled up on his ankle. The hope and expectation is that the sprain is of the mild variety. It's not impossible for Ryan to play next week and as an example Patrick Mahomes continued to play through his Week 1 high ankle sprain however the likelihood is that he will miss this week against the Seahawks. He can recover an extra week and return after next week's bye to play week 10 against division rival Saints.
