Reports are saying that despite x rays being negative, that the Lions quarterback could be dubious to play this coming week. Our position on Stafford has not changed. It was the belief, all along by video that he had a rib cartilage injury, and thus the X rays would be negative. However, the soft ribs are often injuries are often more painful than rib fractures. No question it will be a challenge for Stafford to play but our expectation is that he will not practice much, if at all this week, and be questionable with a game time decision. Presuming he's able to take a rib block type injection, I believe it is still possible for Stafford to play and based on his past history of playing through multiple injuries, including a back fracture I would expect that he will play. There is an urgency in Detroit as well, especially since the Lions are still in the playoff hunt at this point in time. Certainly playing through rib cartilage injury is not easy and he will likely need to take the injection and uses a Flak Jacket.
