Two respected national reporters are saying that the Lions QB Matt Stafford is not expected to play today. He was limited in practice all week due to back/hip issues. Ian Rapoport reported that a Friday MRI showed fractures in his back which would prevent him from playing. Last season he played through back fractures that I presumed to involve the transverse process. This seems to be different and carry some structural risk which is why he was medically ruled out. HIs Iron Man streak of 136 games will now end. Currently the leader is Philip Rivers who is at 217 games. Jeff Driskel will be the starter against the division rival Bears. The question now turns to how long will Stafford be out. We will continue to monitor and give updates when possible.
