As expected, the Lions starting quarterback Matt Stafford will not practice today either. As a matter of fact, we do not expect him to practice all week but this does not mean he won't play on Sunday. Stafford has played through worse injuries before including a back fracture. In this case, the rib cartilage injury is very painful, but with a rib block, his pain can be relieved to play safely on Sunday morning. My anticipation is the option of Stafford playing Sunday with a rib block injection will remain open as the Lions are not eliminated from playoff contention yet, and need the win.
