Mekhi Becton To Have Loose Chips Removed From Knee, Expect A Late October Return

We reported yesterday the MCL injury to the right knee of the Jets’ young star left tackle live during the Jets Week 1 game. News has surfaced indicating a kneecap dislocation along with the MCL sprain. The surgery is the "good kind" which involves a arthroscopic cleanup of loose chips rather than a reconstruction that would of ended his season. The MCL will heal itself leaving a much better timeline than anticipated. A late October return date makes sense for the rising star LT but because of the loose chips indicating the surface of the cartilage was damaged, it could be something to watch long term.
