The Heat have suffered 3 embarrassing losses in a row and enter Saturday’s home bout with the Nets in danger of losing the top spot in the East.
As they have all season, Miami has a full injury report, but the most concerning is Tyler Herro, who is questionable with a left knee sprain after missing the last 2 games. He previously missed 4 of the final 5 games ahead of the all-star break with a right knee issue.
Jimmy Butler, PJ Tucker, Duncan Robinson, Caleb Martin, and Victor Oladipo are all questionable as well with various issues, and all but Oladipo played in Friday’s 8-point loss to the Knicks, during which the Heat were outscored 38-15 in the 4th quarter.
Those who have been listed as questionable have played recently for Miami, according to Sun Sentinel's Ira Winderman, except for Herro.
Butler has played 3 consecutive games without issue after missing 4 of his previous 8 contests with toe and ankle injuries.
Expect to see Max Strus get major minutes if any of Herro, Butler, or Robinson sit.
Strus played 30 minutes off the bench last night, scoring 11 points on 9 shots, 8 of which came from behind the arc.
The Nets will play their final 9 games of the regular season with Kyrie Irving fully in tow.
Irving will make his 2021-22 home debut on Sunday, and is averaging 48.3 points on 61.7% shooting over his last 4 games.
Irving and Kevin Durant are expected to have Seth Curry and Goran Dragic available for the matchup in Miami. Curry has missed 4-and-a-half of the last 6 games with a lingering ankle injury and went scoreless in 12 minutes the last time he took the floor.
Ben Simmons and LaMarcus Aldridge are both out with back and hip injuries, respectively, opening the door for Andre Drummond and Nic Claxton to continue playing big minutes in the frontcourt.
Potential Plays:
Nets -4 -The Nets are clearly the healthier squad heading into the big East matchup, with COVID-19 mandate behind them expect a big win for Brooklyn
Kevin Durant O28.5 Points - The star has flourished in the last three games scoring over 35+ points in each, With F P.J Tucker laboring Durant should have his way against an injured Heat team
