The star New Orleans Saints wide receiver was officially placed on the Reserve/PUP list today, as the Saints cut down their roster to 53. This means he will not be part of the 53-man roster and will miss the first six weeks of the regular season. With the Saints Week 6 bye week, Thomas could miss just 5 games but we believe it will be more than that. Given the timing of his June surgery, we have long opined that he would miss at least half the season. It was a foregone conclusion that Thomas would be on the Reserve/PUP to start the season and we wouldn’t bet on a minimum 6 game stay. This is a likely mid to late season situation before he will be effective which is something to consider in your projections and fantasy leagues.
