Saints’ ruled out WR Michael Thomas for Sunday’s game vs. the Chiefs. It is a surprise announcement and there appears to be lingering effects or re injury to the high ankle sprain that he suffered earlier this season. It is not uncommon to have recurrent symptoms. See Raheem Mostert, and Jimmy Garoppolo. Perhaps the Saints are making the decision that they really need a healthy Michael Thomas going into the playoffs as the expectation is Michael Thomas’s season is not done. This is the right maneuver to have him at full strength for the playoffs. Drew Brees will not have his number one target after missing the last handful of games.
