Blake Snell is on track to return to the Giants' rotation next week, possibly as soon as Wednesday at Pittsburgh. Snell has been out since April 19 due to a left adductor strain but has looked dominant in his rehab starts.
Alex Cobb, recovering from offseason hip surgery, experienced a setback with mild shoulder irritation before a bullpen session. Cobb has been shut down again due to continued soreness.
Jung Hoo Lee will have season-ending surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum after dislocating his shoulder attempting to make a catch against the Reds.
Chas McCormick, José Urquidy and Luis Garcia, Astros
Chas McCormick (right hamstring discomfort) was in the lineup at DH on Sunday for Double-A Corpus Christi at San Antonio in what should be his final rehab outing before rejoining the Astros.
José Urquidy (right forearm strain) will make one more rehab start before the end of the month, setting him up to join the Astros' rotation for the first time in 2024.
Luis Garcia threw 20 pitches in his latest bullpen session as he continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery. The expectation is that he will rejoin the Astros' rotation mid-season.
DJ LeMahieu and Gerrit Cole, Yankees
DJ LeMahieu (non-displaced fracture of right foot) began a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Friday and might return to the Yankees' lineup during their upcoming West Coast road trip.
Gerrit Cole (right elbow discomfort) tossed two simulated innings in the Yankee Stadium bullpen on Saturday. Assuming his recovery is uneventful, Cole’s next step could be facing hitters in live batting practice.
Devin Williams, Brewers
Devin Williams, who has been sidelined since mid-March by stress fractures in his back, marked a milestone with a flat-ground throwing session on Saturday. He is expected to pitch in games by late July.
Evan Carter, Rangers
Evan Carter, dealing with lower back stiffness, returned to the Rangers' lineup on Sunday after not starting in any of the previous nine games. He made a pinch-hit appearance on Friday, his first since May 10.
Garrett Whitlock, Red Sox
Garrett Whitlock (left oblique strain) experienced elbow soreness after a rehab start. He will undergo tests on Monday to determine the next steps in his recovery.
Joe Musgrove, Padres
Joe Musgrove, recovering from right elbow inflammation, had a successful throwing session on Friday and likely to start on Tuesday against the Reds.
Jorge Polanco and J.P. Crawford, Mariners
Jorge Polanco (right hamstring tightness) was out of the lineup for the fifth straight game on Sunday. He completed some running drills but was not 100%, leaving a decision on an IL stint pending.
J.P. Crawford (right oblique strain) stayed back in Seattle for treatment. He began throwing and swinging on Saturday and may join the Mariners during their series in New York.
Kodai Senga and Tylor Megill, Mets Pitchers
Kodai Senga, who had progressed to throwing live batting practice, is scheduled for another bullpen session on Sunday, suggesting a return to the Mets' rotation may be near.
Tylor Megill, recovering from a right shoulder strain, is set to return to the rotation on Monday in Cleveland.
Max Muncy, Dodgers
Max Muncy was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain. His absence requires adjustments in the Dodgers' infield setup.
Nico Hoerner and Dansby Swanson, Cubs
Nico Hoerner and Dansby Swanson participated in a pregame workout on Sunday at Wrigley Field. Both are on track to return to the Cubs' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Braves. Swanson has been out with a right knee injury since May 10, and Hoerner with a left hamstring issue since May 13.
Steven Kwan and Gavin Williams, Guardians
Steven Kwan (left hamstring strain) has shown no symptoms while running and taking batting practice. He may begin a rehab assignment in seven to ten days.
Gavin Williams, recovering from right elbow discomfort, reported no lingering effects from his bullpen session and is scheduled for another session on Friday.
Taijuan Walker and Trea Turner, Phillies
Taijuan Walker (left big toe contusion) has felt better each day since his injury and will have a bullpen session on Sunday to determine his readiness for his next start on Wednesday.
Trea Turner (left hamstring strain) is set to take batting practice on Sunday. Turner estimated a six-week recovery period following his injury on May 4.
Tim Anderson and Edward Cabrera, Marlins
Tim Anderson (lower back soreness) will play at Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday and Sunday before being reevaluated.
Edward Cabrera (right shoulder impingement) threw a bullpen session on Friday, indicating progress in his recovery.
Travis d'Arnaud and Austin Riley, Braves
Travis d'Arnaud was held out of the lineup on Saturday due to dizziness from a foul ball impact. Initial tests indicated no concussion.
Austin Riley's MRI for tightness in his left side revealed inflammation. Riley remained out of the starting lineup but hopes to avoid the injured list.
Xander Bogaerts, Padres
Exited today after suffering the injury when making a diving stop. Preliminary imaging on his left shoulder was negative however likely to miss the second game today and will be day-to-day until MRI results are available.
Yariel Rodríguez, Blue Jays
Yariel Rodríguez, recovering from thoracic spine inflammation, is set to make a rehab start on Tuesday for Triple-A Buffalo and may need one or two additional starts before returning.
Zach Eflin, Rays
Added to the 15-day IL with lower-back inflammation after throwing six innings on May 18.
