Tests Monday revealed that star Tampa Bay defensive tackle Vita Vea suffered a "slight" left knee MCL sprain and bone bruise near the end of Sunday's loss to Washington. Vea was carted to the locker room after he his left leg was landed on in a pile on a goal-line rush from Antonio Gibson. At the time, limited video angles did not show the injury mechanism, but we said an MCL sprain was likely the injury given how the pile moved. The bone bruise injury could land the 26-year-old on IR, causing him to miss the team's next three games. The Buccaneers face the Giants next Monday, then the Colts in Week 12 and the Falcons in Week 13 before key matchups against the Bills, Saints and Panthers. Vea missed 13 games last year with an ankle fracture/dislocation in his right leg. The semi-good news is this injury is to his left side and his recovery should be fairly straight forward. Rakeem Nunez-Roaches would fill in at nose tackle if Vea misses time.
