Najee Harris Injury: Will Steelers Starting RB Be Available to Play vs. Falcons?

Running back Najee Harris was absent for Steelers' practice on Wednesday after he suffered an apparent oblique strain in Monday's victory.

Harris is unlikely to play this week against the Falcons, according to the Pro Football Docs, and the second-year back carries an SIC score of 59.

His abdominal injury, which he appeared to suffer on the first rush of the second quarter, was described on Wednesday as an oblique but the Docs said it could also involve damage to the rib cartilage.

The team hasn't announced the severity of the injury but Ian Rapoport reported that it's believed to be minor.

Even if it is simply a muscle strain, the 24-year-old Harris will still face an uphill battle to return in six days.

Rookie running back Jaylen Warren returned to practice from a hamstring injury and joined longtime Steeler Benny Snell Jr., who rushed 12 times for 62 yards and the game-winning touchdown on Monday.

Harris rushed for 35 yards with a diving six-yard score halfway through the second quarter but departed after a short rush with 1:22 left.
