The 2021 first overall pick managed just 12 games last season due to a left shin injury that required surgery. Before the injury the guard was averaging 19.9 points per game including 5 games over 21 points. Cunningham is expected once again to be the focal point of the Pistons offense and should easily eclipse the future number if he can play a full slate of games. Durability is a non issue going forward with guard playing 60+ games his rookie year while his 18.7 shots per game last season show his importance in the Pistons offense which should continue this season.
The Warriors have created a dynasty over the years spearheaded by their three point shooting duo of Step Curry and Klay Thompson. The heartbeat of those teams, Draymond Green, will miss the start of the season due to an ankle injury suffered in camp. The Warriors are 60-57 all-time without Draymond Green suffering greatly on both ends of the court. The durability of Curry is major concern in year 15 with the guard unable to play a full season the last three years. Thompson raised eyebrows last season leading the league in three pointers made and looking reborn after missing almost two years due to two significant injuries. Expect regression for Thompson and to see visual signs of a dynasty crumbling in 2023-2024.
