NBA 2024 Finals Game 3 - Dallas Mavericks Injury Report

Mavericks Injury Report - SIC Score 89.9 :

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić appeared on the Game 2 injury report due to a back/chest injury but went on to deliver an outstanding performance. He logged a 30-point triple-double, recording 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Reportedly before Game 2 the Mavericks guard was given pain killing injections. He will continue these injections in the series to manage pain but will be in no danger of missing time. Dončić has been managing multiple injuries, with the most significant being a knee ailment that he has acknowledged won't fully heal until the postseason ends. A knee injury like this either needs rest of a cean-up procedure in the offseason. Despite being heavily taped before his triple-double game, Dončić performance assured he will continue to play through the pain and not miss any games this series.

In addition to Dončić, rookie center Dereck Lively has returned from a neck issue that cost him a game in the previous series. While he hasn't made the same impact as he did during the regular season, his presence is still valuable for the team. Stretch forward Max Kleber is also back, playing his usual minutes off the bench after missing 25 days of the playoff run due to an AC joint injury. The return of these key players has bolstered the Mavericks' lineup, providing them with much-needed depth and versatility.

Though the Mavericks are dealing with the typical wear and tear of playing deep into the summer, they are relatively healthy and free from any major injuries that could derail their playoff run. With their roster largely intact, they are well-positioned to mount a comeback in the NBA Finals. Starting at home, the Mavericks have the opportunity to leverage their collective health and talent to challenge for the championship.
