As the Eastern Conference Finals heads back to Miami for Game 6, the injury storylines have become more interesting with each game.
Based on injury analysis from our panel of doctors, here are three injury-based prop plays through Sleeper Picks.
Through a partnership with Sports Injury Central, first-time users can get up to $100 matched on a first-time deposit through this link here.
The absence of Tyler Herro has put added pressure on Jimmy Butler as the series gets deeper and deeper. Butler breezed through the first three games of the series, averaging 26 points per game on 44.8% shooting.
After scoring 29 in Game 4, he took just 10 shots with Gabe Vincent out with a left ankle sprain in Game 5. If Vincent is out or limited once again, Butler will have the ball in his hands and need to distribute to keep the Heat offense running smoothly.
Expect the Celtics to send double teams often, disrupting his ability to get clean shots.
Butler has scored 29 points or more twice in the five games thus far.
By video, Martin suffered a right knee hyperextension just before halftime in Game 5, but he stayed on the floor and finished the game. With Herro out and Vincent now limited, Martin has taken on a bigger role in the offense and shot well from distance.
Martin has hit 2 or more 3s every game this series and is shooting 45.2% from beyond the arc.
Expect that trend to continue in Game 6, especially if Vincent is out or plays limited minutes.
Malcolm Brogdon’s forearm injury has put serious strain on the Celtics’ rotation and bench scoring. Since Game 2, Marcus Smart and Derrick White have picked up the slack.
Smart is the better prop option because of the consistent playing time and role in the offense.
White went off in Game 5, hitting 6 of his 8 shots from distance while scoring 24 points. However, Smart has taken more shots than White this series (8.6 per game vs. 8.4) and gets to the line more often (5 free throw attempts per game vs. 1.2 per game for White).
