Nets general manager Sean Marks announced on Thursday that 3-point specialist Joe Harris will miss the rest of the regular season with his ailing left ankle.
Harris has not played since suffering the injury on Nov. 14 and will undergo a second surgery after all other treatment methods did not produce their desired results.
The 30-year-old underwent an initial procedure on Nov. 29 to remove a piece of bone that was floating in his ankle after playing only 11 games for the Nets, scoring 11.3 points with 4 rebounds while shooting 46.6% from 3.
The 32-31 Nets picked up Seth Curry in the James Harden trade partly to fill Harris' starting small forward and floor-spacer role next to Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and the newly-acquired Ben Simmons.
Harris struggled in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Bucks, scoring 7 points on 26.5% shooting while going 8-33 from distance in games 3 through 7, in which the Nets went 1-4.
The 2014 2nd-round pick has played for the Nets since 2016-17 and is in the 2nd year of a 4-year, $75 million contract.
