Newton received results from Friday's positive test on Saturday morning and missed the contest versus the Chiefs. Newton reports that he is asymptomatic, which gives him an outside chance of playing this week, but statistically it will not happen. He needs multiple negative tests in order to be able to play week 5. Most likely scenario is what happened to Falcons first round pick cornerback AJ Terrell, who was reported positive on Saturday ahead of the week 3 game versus the Bears, which he missed and then returned for week 5. The most likely scenario for Newton is to miss the Broncos game and return for week 6. This would be the expected pattern based on timeline.
