NFL Free Agency Injury Profile: Allen Robinson II

Allen Robinson II is arguably the best remaining free agent wide receiver on the market after Davante Adams, Chris Godwin, and Mike Williams all re-signed with their current teams.

Robinson II is coming off of his worst statistical season with the Bears in 2021 by every metric. In 12 games, the 28-year-old caught 38 passes for 410 yards and only 1 touchdown on 6.2 yards per target, all either career lows or his worst since 2016.

Robinson II only had one game – week 9 – at or above his career per game average of 64.1 yards, and that was coincidentally also the game in which he suffered a hamstring strain that would sideline him for 3 weeks. The hamstring should not hamper him going into 2022.

The only red flag on Robinson's profile is the torn ACL he suffered in Week 1 of the 2017 season, as there is always the risk of residual knee issues from the torn ligament and subsequent surgery.

Before 2021, however, Robinson II posted 3 solid seasons for the Bears, including a 100-catch campaign in 2020.

Hopefully, the disappointing 2021 season was an aberration attributed to a rotating door of sub-par quarterbacks and surrounding franchise turmoil, and not a sign of things to come.

That is a bet some team will make, and he will be healthy wherever he ends up.
