The NFL cannot settle for chasing positive tests, and while delaying the KC-NE game was good protection, Kansas City will have to play 3 games in a 10 day period as they play next Sunday, and the Thursday after that. This was the right move as the league wanted to avoid another outbreak like Tennessee, and New England has had no other positive tests. As far as the league's handling of the situation in general, chasing tests is like putting on sunscreen after you've already turned red. The league is asking for trouble if they don't change something, and it appears that they have established new guidelines. These new rules offer harsh punishments for social distancing infractions such as loss of draft picks or game forfeits, in an attempt to curb the lack of mask use among coaching staffs. However, there is no way the league can shift gears and head into a bubble as the infrastructure to put thousands of players and staffs into a months-long situation. The NFL will have to hope their new guidelines can keep the season on track.
