With training camps underway, there has been an unfortunate influx of injuries to key names. Here we breakdown the latest analysis from our panel of doctors and when to expect each player back. For the latest injury analysis, head to our insights page here.
Following practice on August 1, 2024, Justin Herbert was diagnosed with a plantar fascia injury in his right foot. He has been placed in a walking boot and will likely be held out until the regular season starts. While he is expected to be ready for Week 1, there is concern that missed practice time could result in disruptions to the continuity of the Chargers' offense.
During a training camp incident on August 1, 2024, D'Onta Foreman sustained a direct blow to the head, resulting in neck pain. The Browns' training staff followed standard emergency action procedures as a necessary precaution, immobilizing Foreman and transporting him by helicopter to a nearby hospital for testing. The team reported that X-rays and CT scans were negative, and Foreman was subsequently released back to the team.
DeAndre Hopkins suffered a knee injury during practice on August 1, 2024, which will sideline him for 4-6 weeks. The injury has been described as a knee strain, affecting the muscle rather than the tendon. If he can return within four weeks, he may be ready for Week 1 of the regular season; however, this would be pushing the timeline, and there is a possibility he may miss the start of his second season with the Titans. Meanwhile, new signee Calvin Ridley has an opportunity to solidify a strong partnership with QB Will Levis in Hopkins' absence.
