As we head into this important NFC West matchup between Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals, both teams are looking to start the season off with a win to set themselves up as contenders for their divisions. As always, injuries will play a critical role in shaping the outcome of this game. In this article, we’ll break down the most impactful injuries and how they might affect the game.
The Los Angeles Rams' offensive line is in disarray heading into Week 2, with three out of five starters injured or suspended. The team will rely on their third-string left tackle, second-string left guard, and a center moved from left guard. Defensively, the Rams are also struggling, with cornerback Tre'Davious White recovering from an Achilles tear and ACL injury, while CB2 Derrion Kendrick is out for the season due to an ACL tear.
Additionally, WR Puka Nacua, dealing with a PCL injury as covered here, has been placed on IR. Both the offense and defense face significant challenges as shown in the Field View as part of SIC Data.
The Arizona Cardinals need to replace their top offseason signing Right Tackle Jonah Williams as he was placed on IR after suffering a knee injury in Week 1, but overall, both the offense and defense are relatively healthy as shown in the Field View for SIC Data subscribers. QB Kyler Murray, in his second year post-ACL surgery, has shown improved mobility and performance. While the loss of defensive end BJ Ojulari is significant, the defense is expected to perform better than last season.
