As we enter Week 9 of the NFL season, the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals prepare to clash in a matchup filled with playoff implications and injury storylines.
The Bears, sitting at 4-3, aim to turn their road record around and prove they can win away from Soldier Field. Meanwhile, the Cardinals, holding a balanced 4-4 record, look to maintain their competitive edge at home.
Both teams come in with questions regarding key players' health, adding another layer of complexity to the game plan.
With Chicago’s defense showing recent improvement and Arizona’s offense gaining momentum, Sunday’s matchup could be a battle of tactical adjustments and resilience.
In this article, we’ll break down the most impactful injuries and how they will affect the game.
The Offensive Line is the new issue for the Bears with LT Braxton Jones and LG Teven Jenkins (LP on Friday) both carrying injuries going into Week 9 and likely to both miss. Star LDE Montez Sweat is dealing with a shin issue and was a DNP on Friday and likely out.
The secondary health is still impacted as it will be missing SS Jaquan Brisker who has been dealing with a concussion for multiple weeks. Nickel back CB Kyler Gordon has missed time due to a hamstring injury and was an LP on Friday.
The Cardinals skill position players have no major injury issues of note. On the offensive line RG Will Hernandez is out for the season and RT Jonah Williams is on IR and in the 21-day practice window.
The Defensive Line has chronic issues with multiple starters out for the season including DE Justin Jones, and this has been highlighted as they have performed poorly this season.
Top CB Sean Murphy-Bunting has been dealing with neck injury but was a FP on Wednesday and Thursday which is a good sign he will play.
D'Andre Swift - Over 64.5 Rushing Yards
