Nick Foles is set to the start for the Bears in their Week 16 matchup versus the Seahawks, head coach Matt Nagy announced on Friday.
Rookie quarterback Justin Fields is listed as questionable for the contest after suffering a minor inversion sprain in his right ankle in the second quarter of Monday night's loss to the Vikings.
We believe the injury is mild enough that Fields would be able to play through, so Nagy's decision to start Foles is likely done out of an abundance of caution for the franchise cornerstone as the 4-10 Bears have fallen out of the playoff race.
Fields was limited in practice on Wednesday and did not participate the last 2 days. Nagy said he would be an "emergency option" off the bench if he proved healthy enough to be active.
Veteran Andy Dalton will miss another contest with left hand and groin ailments.
Nick Foles last started in Week 10 last year, and posted 10 touchdown and 8 interceptions on a 64.7% completion rate in 9 games for Chicago in 2020.
