Norman Powell Set To Make Return From Broken Foot as Clippers Ramp Up For Play-In Tournament

Clippers trade-deadline addition Norman Powell is reportedly expected to return tonight from the broken left foot he suffered Feb. 12.

The 28-year-old played just three games for Los Angeles before being sidelined with the injury.

He averaged 21 points in those three games on 47.6% shooting, up from his 18.7 points per game in 40 games with the Blazers.

His return could not come at a better time, with the Clippers ramping up for the Play-in round.

The ProBasketballDocs expect the Clippers to be cautious with Powell's minutes at first, especially with star shooting guard Paul George back and playing well.

George has averaged 23.7 points in his three games back thus far. Powell and George have not played together this season.

The Clippers sit in the eighth spot and are unable to move up or down in the standings with just four games left.

They will play the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in and must beat them twice to advance to a playoff series.

The Clippers are 6.5-point favorites against the Suns tonight and the over/under is 223, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The Suns are resting Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Jae Crowder and Deandre Ayton.
