North Carolina Guard Caleb Love Suffers Right Ankle Sprain in National Championship

North Carolina guard Caleb Love suffered a non-contact right ankle sprain mid-way through the second half when his ankle turned while running back on defense.

Love, who had 11 points on 13 shots when the injury happened, remained in the game.

He will be able to play through the sprain, but his mobility will be limited, according to our ProBasketballDocs.

Love led the Tar Heels with 28 points on Saturday and has been the main scoring option for the entire tournament.

This recent injury makes two key UNC players for Kansas to attack on offense.

Armando Bacot, who has 13 points and 10 rebounds on 3-10 shooting, came in with a more serious right ankle sprain but has continued to control the paint for the Tar Heels.

Update

Love finished the game but scored just 2 points on 1-10 shooting after the injury He finished with 13 points on 5-23 shooting and was 1-8 from three.

Bacot reinjured his right ankle on a drive in the closing seconds and exited the game. He finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds on 3-12 shooting.
