Ohio State Product Jeremy Ruckert Likely To Overcome Plantar Fasciitis By Draft Day

Former Ohio State tight end Jeremy Ruckert opted out of running at the NFL Combine last month to rehab the plantar fasciitis he suffered ahead of the Senior Bowl.

While frustrating for Ruckert's pre-Draft process, according to ProFootballDoc, the plantar fasciitis is treatable and won’t affect the 21-year-old's draft stock.

Ruckert’s plan is to work out at OSU’s pro day on March 23, and even if the foot injury lingers and/or requires surgery, he will have plenty of time post-draft to cure the ailment.

Ruckert, who caught 26 passes for 309 yards and 3 touchdowns while fighting elite prospects Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Jaxon Smith-Njigaba, is ranked by Mel Kiper Jr. as the No. 4 tight end prospect this year as a dangerous receiving threat with good hands.

If he can’t work out at the pro day, it might take away his chance to move up, but astute teams will judge the film from his 3 seasons at Ohio State and may end up with a steal.
