In a fantastic development, Mahomes is reportedly back at practice today for the Chiefs after dislocating his patella just under one week ago. It remains to be seen whether his presence at practice is limited or just standing on the sidelines. It is certainly good news for Mahomes and the Chiefs as it was also has reported that Matt Moore has not been told if he is starting or not this week. This would further prove that Patrick Mahomes is superhuman if he could come back and play this week. I doubt that it is medically reasonable to play 10 days after the dislocation but he has done some unbelievable things before including playing through his Week one high ankle sprain as we have noted. It remains unchallenged that he dislocated his patella, which is a significant injury even if he can return and beat all timelines. Even if he didn't tear anything, it still means he has a fundamental laxity or looseness in his kneecap and there is still worry for reaggravation. When he does come back, he will undoubtedly wear a brace to help support the knee cap. I welcome him beating all the odds to play and if he does so I will personally make him the permanent beast of the week as awarded weekly on my podcast.
