There is no doubt Mahomes has made great progress two and a half weeks from his injury. When he dislocated his kneecap, we postulated a return of about three to four weeks. It is not impossible that he plays this week but because of the risk of redislocation, I lean towards the Chiefs taking care of their franchise quarterback and sitting him one more week. This will allow the tissue around the knee cap to scar in and his muscles to get stronger. If he plays this week, I don't see him being his complete mobile / dynamics self. I have not wavered from the thought of surgery after the season to prevent future dislocations.
