The possibility of off-season surgery has been raised here as their is risk of recurrent knee cap dislocation for the Super Bowl winning quarterback. The Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Mahomes "is good in his mind" and has been working out. It looks like surgery is not happening this offseason but a potential future surgery is not completely off the table. Once a kneecap dislocates, rehab, bracing and time to heal/scar helps but the risk of recurrence is always higher. Given Mahomes documented hyper-mobility/flexibility, the potential risk is still present. It seems the Chiefs are comfortable about no surgery for now and hopefully Mahomes avoids another future episode of patella dislocation.
