Pats Center David Andrews Has Right Thumb Fracture

The injury to the Patriots' center is likely to cause quite a shuffle along the offensive line. He finished the game with a broken thumb and had surgery on what is likely a Bennett's type fracture. This will require a thumb spica cast. He clearly will not be able to snap with his right hand, and video of him trying to snap with the left hand is not promising. This switch is very difficult to do, much like trying to shoot a basketball with your off hand, all the mechanics are changed when you switch sides. Without a true backup center it is likely that guard Joe Thuney will move over to Center and potentially to minimize the shuffle perhaps Andrews would take over at guard. I am quite sure the Patriots will have an interesting contingency plan that will limit the o-line Shuffle as much as possible certainly this will change the Field View and affect their injury index
