Lindsay left the season opener in the second quarter with a foot injury and did not return for the second half against the Titans. Head coach Vic Fangio confirmed that it was turf toe that led to his exit, and a big toe injury is bothersome for a running back that needs to push off and cut to gain valuable yards. Even if mild, turf toes can greatly affect a player's agility, and Phillip Lindsay relies heavily on his ability to weave around defenders. Watch for the injury to affect Lindsay over the next several weeks if he indeed decides to play through, though with Melvin Gordon playing well they do not have an immediate need to rush him back.
