After a concussion caused him to have a rocky start to his first NCAA tournment, Michigan point guard DeVante' Jones is poised to play against Villanova in the Sweet Sixteen Thursday night.
Jones suffered a blow to the head in practice early last week and missed the team's first round matchup against Colorado State.
He returned for the second round bout against Tennessee, but only played in the first half and did not emerge from the locker room for the second half.
Now, the graduate transfer from Coastal Carolina should be clear of any lingering symptoms and ready to play his full minutes.
The ProBasketballDocs put his SIC score at 90.
Concussion recoveries are different for each players, but Jones has had well over a week to recover and it's been five days since he last played.
Jones averaged 10.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 28.7 minutes during the regular season.
Freshman Frankie Collins played well filling in fully for Jones against Colorado State and could see an increased role if he struggles to be effective.
Michigan is a 5-point underdog against Villanova and the over/under is 135, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
