ProFootballDoc: Jared Goff's Season Is Done With MCL Injury

Lions quarterback Jared Goff was designated as doubtful for this Sunday's game against the Seahawks with a left knee injury.

ProFootballDoc, Dr. David Chao, is confident that he will not only miss Week 17 with an MCL injury in that left knee, but he will be out Week 18 as well, ending his season.

Goff was injured on a late hit by Jordan Phillips with 1:53 left in the 1st half in a surprise Week 15 win over the Cardinals. He missed 1 play, and was able to return and throw 2 more TDs in the win. The former No. 1 overall pick missed last week with COVID-19, and Tim Boyle stepped in, posting 187 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.

After a tough start to the season, Goff has thrown for 898 yards on a 69.47% completion percentage with 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions his last 4 starts, helping the Lions to 2 wins.

The 27-year-old is in his 1st season in Detroit, finishing with 3,007 yards, 17 TDs, and 9 INTs while working with a revolving door of wide receivers.
