Rams star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a left knee injury on an incomplete pass in the second quarter of Super Bowl LVI.
Beckham was running a crossing route when slowed down to catch the ball and his left foot stuck in the turf.
His left knee shifted non-contact and he went down holding his knee before walking off the field gingerly.
ProFootballDoc, Dr. David Chao, said he has significant worry for a re-tear of the left knee ACL.
Beckham tore the ACL in his left knee in October 2020 with the Browns. He missed the first two games of the regular season while recovering from the previous ACL tear.
The 29-year-old went to the locker room and will not return to the game.
Before the injury, Beckham had 2 catches on 3 targets for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Ben Skowronek will likely see more action with Beckham out for the game.
Beckham was signed midseason from the Browns to replace veteran receiver Robert Woods, who suffered a torn ACL in a November practice.
Update
The Rams ruled Beckham out for the game late in the third quarter.
ProFootballDoc projects he is likely heading for surgery on the ACL.
If confirmed, the injury would keep him out for a majority, if not all, of next season.
Beckham was seen standing on the sideline in the second half after being ruled out.
This is not a sign that his ACL is not torn, Chao said, adding that a re-tear of the ACL graft is less painful and swells less.
