ProFootballDoc: Previous ACL Tear Shouldn't Impede Arkansas WR Treylon Burks

Treylon Burks enters the draft as a top-5 wide receiver prospect and got through his college career mostly unscathed.

He did tear an ACL in an unknown knee his senior year of high school, but he only missed one game due to injury in his three years at Arkansas.

The 22-year-old ramped up his production each year at Arkansas and finished with 66 catches for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.

He dominated matchups against ranked teams last season, including an 8-catch, 179 yards and two touchdowns performance against Alabama.

The ACL injury clearly didn't affect his production in college and shouldn't be much concern for NFL teams looking to draft him, said Dr. David Chao, ProFootballDoc.

During his physical, team doctors will check the ACL reconstruction, but there should not be any lingering issues from the high school injury, Chao said.

Burks projects as a lock to go in the first round. At 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, he has the longest arms and longest wingspan of any receiver in the draft. He also has the third-largest hands.

While his 4.50 40 time did not particularly impress at the Combine, he will get another look from teams at Arkansas' Pro Day this Wednesday.
