Gabbert injured his left non-throwing shoulder during the third preseason game. After missing the first three games of the season, Gabbert was placed on injury reserve with surgery which caused him to miss the entire season. By video, you can see that he suffered a labral tear of the shoulder which led to season-ending surgery. Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky suffered a similar injury last year and had surgery after the season ended. We do not expect his shoulder injury to be a factor during free agency.
