The Saints quarterback missed six weeks last season after undergoing thumb surgery, as he tore the ulnar collateral ligament to his thumb on the throwing hand (right) by jamming it into Aaron Donald's hand. As expected, he recovered fully and should return to full form. There are no long term issues with his grip for 2020, but long term at his age is a relative thing. The bigger potential worry is the fact that he’s 41 years old and arm strength has never been his biggest asset before or after the well-publicized shoulder injury/surgery in 2005. His accuracy and touch have remained elite however, as he finished last year with 2,979 Yards, a glowing 74.1% completion rate, 27 touchdowns , and just four picks in 11 starts.
