The Colts are struck by lightning again, with a second similar bone issue in the foot requiring surgery. Carson Wentz just underwent surgery for a bone excision with an estimated 5-12 timeline. We believe he can return in October and quite possibly earlier. Star offensive lineman Quenton Nelson is reportedly suffering from a similar bone issue, which also led to subsequent surgery. Until we know details of what kind of bone was operated on and where it is located in the foot, it is hard to prognosticate. However we would expect Nelson to return slightly more quickly due to the position he plays. Both combined injures are huge blows to a team with playoff aspirations.
