The Jets wide receiver was placed on injured reserve for another neck issue. Previously, he missed the 2017 season in which he had neck surgery that included a discectomy and fusion. Players are usually able to return after a single level surgery where two cervical bones are fused after disc is removed. If indeed he needs a second surgery, with additional level fused, that usually (not always) rules a player out for his career due to loss of motion and risk of a third injury. We certainly hope this is not the case but this seems to be the likelihood at this time. Best wishes to Enunwa but this is certainly long term bad news for the Jets especially after signing him to a new contract extension.
