Raekwon Davis, the Miami Dolphins' nose tackle, was placed on IR with a knee injury he suffered in the Dolphins' Week 1 win over the Patriots. By video, he was engaged with a blocker with 11:52 left in the first quarter when he had his right ankle rolled up on by a fellow defender. We initially thought Davis suffered a high ankle sprain, but he was seen on the sideline with a brace on his right knee, suggesting he is dealing with an MCL sprain. The team's decision to place the second-year nose tackle on IR means he will miss a minimum of three weeks. In his press conference Wednesday, Dolphins' Head Coach Brian Flores declined to say whether Davis will need surgery for the injury. The Dolphins will likely start 32-year-old John Jenkins when they face the Bills in Week 2.
