Veteran left tackle Andrew Whitworth and third-year free safety Taylor Rapp both logged a limited practice on Wednesday and will likely play against the 49ers on Sunday.
Whitworth missed last game with a knee injury he suffered in the Wildcard Round win over the Cardinals.
Upon video review of the game, the ProFootballDoc team did not notice a significant injury. He should play effectively in his return to the lineup, but gets a tough matchup against 49ers sack leader Nick Bosa.
Rapp missed the last two weeks with a concussion. He still needs to log a full practice and get cleared from an independent neurologist, but he is on track to clear the concussion protocol.
His return is great news for a Los Angeles team struggling with depth at the safety positions.
Eric Weddle, the 37-year-old former Charger, played 61 snaps (84.7% of defense's snaps) in the win over the Buccaneers.
That is not an ideal scenario for the Rams, but Rapp's return allows them to start Nick Scott at strong safety and mix Weddle or Terrell Burgess in when needed.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the Rams are 3.5-point favorites at home against the 49ers.
