Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has been placed on injured reserve (IR) after aggravating a previous knee injury during the Rams' overtime loss to the Detroit Lions. Head coach Sean McVay confirmed Monday that Nacua has suffered a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) sprain and will miss at least four games as a result.

The injury occurred midway through the second quarter when Nacua made a catch and limped off the field to the blue medical tent. Though he briefly returned, he soon exited the game for good. Before leaving, Nacua had recorded four receptions for 35 yards.

This knee issue stems from an earlier injury on August 4 during a joint practice with the Los Angeles Chargers. At this time Sports Injury Central analyzed limited practice video and provided this practice injury update on Nacua. At the time Nacua was reported to be week-to-week which was a concern.

Although he returned to practice on August 26 and participated fully leading up to Sunday's game, McVay said this incident was "a little more significant."

Nacua, who set rookie records last season for most receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486), will be a big loss for the Rams' offense, as he is known for his impact both in the passing and running game.
