The resurgent Red Sox offense will have slugger J.D. Martinez back in the heart of the order on Tuesday after back spasms held him out on Sunday.
Martinez was a late scratch on Sunday, but it appears Monday's day off healed his ailment.
The 34-year-old has eight games this year with a combination of adductor and back issues, but has otherwise been a force, leading Boston with a .349 average, .971 OPS, and 15 doubles.
Also returning to the lineup for Tuesday's battle of the Sox is leftfielder Alex Verdugo, who missed Sunday with a non-Covid illness. Verdugo is batting .214 with three home runs, 16 RBI, and 13 runs over 140 at-bats.
The Red Sox have won five straight and nine of their last 12 as their offense comes together behind infielders Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts, and Trevor Story.
