Rob Gronkowski Leaves Game After Big Hit To Ribs, Return Unlikely

Rob Gronkowski, the Buccaneers tight end, left the Rams game in the third quarter after taking a big hit to the ribs from outside linebacker Terrell Lewis. By video, Gronkowski caught the ball and took a blind hit to his right lower ribs from Lewis. Gronkowski was cringing before he hit the ground and we have a high suspicion of a rib fracture. He will undergo an X-ray before the team determines if he can return to the game. Never count Gronk out, but his return is in doubt.

Update

Gronkowski returned to the game late in the third quarter. The former Patriots tight end took X-rays after the game, which reportedly came back negative.
